Aims

To continue improving my design skills post university, this project was intended to challenge me by designing a broader range of pages and interactions with a specific goal in mind.

Research

Research into existing gyms and women only environments laid the foundation for the approach into the conception and designing phase of this project. Using methods learned at university, I interviewed women about what they would want from a potential brand like this and used that to inform how the website should look and feel.

Prototype Development

  • Wireframing: This technique allowed me to quickly iterate different approaches to the design and was used throughout the process, all the way to the final product.

  • High-Fidelity Prototyping: Figma was used to create the fully functioning prototype and bring the design to life, demonstrating the user flow and allowing for rudimentary testing. This was the final stage to the design so it was done to a high quality.

Results

This project enhanced my ability to maintain a design theme across different pages as well as encouraging users to make certain actions, such as booking a class.

Outcomes

The redesigned fitness tracker app received overwhelmingly positive feedback from users, who praised its improved usability, engaging design, and motivational features. The project was a significant learning opportunity, enhancing my understanding of user-centric design principles and the impact of design on user behavior and app retention.
